Python and LEGO SPIKE with 21 Young Learners in Sierra Leone
Inside a ten-week, in-person SLinT programme for learners aged 10–14.
Programme context
The ten-week programme was organised through Sierra Leoneans in Technology at the Develop Africa Computer Training Facility in Juba Hill, Freetown. Twenty-one learners aged 10–14 completed the programme.
What learners explored
Sessions connected programming concepts to practical activities so learners could see how instructions, logic and physical systems work together.

Delivery principle
Young learners need clear explanations, visible examples and room to experiment. The programme used age-appropriate demonstrations and hands-on exercises rather than presenting programming as abstract theory.
